Mistras is 5 km away from Sparta, where, apart from the Byzantine churches, the Palace, and the houses of Laskari and Fragopoulos, there is the Byzantine Museum.

In the wider area of Lakonia you will find very beautiful beaches for swimming. The beach of Mavrovouniou is a good choice, located 50 minutes from Sparta. It is a large stretch of beach with sand. It is ideal for wind surfing lovers because of frequent winds in the area. At about the same distance from Sparta, you will find the beautiful beaches of Vathi and Selinitsa with the imposing wreck "Dimitrios".
